Choosing & cutting our trees has become a fun family tradition. Just a short drive from Sutton, the Plantation Bernier Tree farm has fir trees as far as the eyes can see & rolling hills in the distance. Here, it is ok to slow down, take your time & smell the evergreens! It’s easy too, just grab the small handsaw & sled provided and let the kids choose your perfect Christmas tree! You won’t even need to worry about messy transport, as the friendly staff will gladly wrap it for you. Do bring old fashioned money however, as it is cash only.
Delight in the Sutton Christmas Market
The Sutton Christmas Market is a colourful pop-up village of tipis, wigwams, tents, igloos and over 70 artists & producers. Warm up around the outdoor fire with a hot apple cider, meet the locals, pick-up some truly unique gifts & be swept away by the festive mood. The kids will love: Santa, toy train rides, story time, petting farm & more!
Take the stress out of Christmas shopping
Shopping in a small town is the ultimate remedy for city stress. Wander the streets and peruse the more than 30 boutiques & specialty shops! Go Art Gallery hopping
No visit to Sutton is complete without a visit to its galleries! In the weeks leading up to the holiday’s some galleries have special exhibits with your Christmas wish list & budget in mind! Visit Arts Sutton’s permanent gallery-boutique, and don’t miss their annual Group Exhibition for original Christmas gifts at affordable prices.
Starting December 2, the Galerie Art Libre puts on its popular Small Format Exhibit, including works by owner-artists Louis Lefebvre, Lou LeBlanc, Nicole Côté, Normand Bleau & a host of talented guest artists.
In November and December, visit the Rebelles/Rebelles exhibit at the Galerie Art Plus with over 50 «Rebelles» artists exhibiting their works all in the same small format frames.
You can also visit the ongoing exhibits at the Art Dépôt, JazzArtBazar and Les Imagiers. The Galerie farfelu, an artist collective, is the perfect place to find the unique gift you are looking for as it showcases the works of some 40 quebecois artists & artisans.

Visit a vineyard
The Vignoble du Ruisseau is a stunning & romantic vineyard just a few kilometers from Sutton. Their boutique is open 7 days, 10:30 am to 6 pm, and is definitely worth the visit. A great place to pick up some wine or bubbly for the holidays. Also produced at the vineyard is a wide range of maple products that make great hostess gifts.
